Athens is a city where the modern meets with the ancient. As they call it the “mother of democracy”, this city has great past and spectacular monuments that show it. Athens is the capital of Greece and nowadays has a population over 4.500.000 but in areas of the historic center you’ll feel like you are in a small town. Our tour starts from Thissio, the traditional neighborhood at the center of Athens, which took its name from the temple of Hephaestus. We continue walking around the hill of Acropolis until the hill of Filopappou. It is also called hill of the Muses, it is close to the Acropolis and offers spectacular views to the rest of the city. Close to this, is also, the new Acropolis Museum. Our ride continues to the Panathenaic Stadium, also known as Kallimarmaro. It is the stadium of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896. It is unique due to its construction that is entirely made of marble.
From the Syntagma Square to the Plaka Area
After Kallimarmaro we visit the National Garden, behind the Greek Parliament building. It is a beautiful and relaxing garden that consists of rare species of plants and birds. This stop is an enjoyable breath in the center and an escape from the surrounding noise. The Zappeion Megaro Hall follows, one of the city’s most important buildings of the modern history of the country. It is a magnificent neoclassical building at the south of the garden. Next, we visit the Temple of Zeus, a colossal but partly ruined temple. Walking through it, it leads us to Syntagma Square. There we meet the Hellenic Parliament and the impressive Tomp of the Unknown Soldier. Afterwards, we walk around the traditional area of Plaka and Anafiotika, a graphic neighborhood with beautiful buildings and streets. It is exactly under the hill of Acropolis and gives the impression of a traditional village or a small island.
Monastiraki & Tour of the Acropolis of Athens
The Monastiraki area follows next, at the downtown of the city, where past and present coexist. After we visit the National Archaeological Museum. It is one of the most astonishing museums with thousands of exhibits from ancient world and the whole Greece. The Acropolis rock and Parthenon follows. The ride carry us to the famous Erechtheion, the temple where the porch of the Caryatids is located and Propylae, the gate of Acropolis. Our tour ends at Lycabettus Hill, the highest spot, in order to enjoy the amazing view of the whole Athens.

Tour in Athens by a mini van
Christos is very professional and kind! He has organized a very nice tour for my friends from Portugal. In just one day, they managed to see Acropolis, Lycabetus, Kallimarmaro, and many other places in Athens in a very well organised tour. The communication until the day of the tour was great and immediate! Christos has also arranged a guided tour in Acropolis which was pretty good and all of the members managed to understand and learn a lot of things about our history.
The driver of the mini bus was also very professional, polite and well organised! We are very happy to having chosen this tour and I will definitely choose this again in any other future Athens tour with friends from abroad! My Portuguese friends also kept the phone number so as to suggest this tour to any other friends visiting Greece!

What a welcome
Chris was organised by our accommodation to pick us up from the airport. The trip into Athens was really enjoyable with a fascinating rundown on Athens and Greece in general.
We enjoyed his company so much we booked him to take us back to the airport via the various sites and the temple of Poseidon.

Wow service
8 of us cane to Athens few days ago. We are so lucky that we hired him to bring us around Athens. When the 1st Day, we touched down the airport, he picked us up from the airport and to our place. He explained so well in English the city of Athens and the history of Greece. He is so patiently explained to us. He dropped us to airbnb place and explained 30 minutes to us. He is the best person that can take us around the Athens. 8 of us were Wow by him. Highly recommended to anyone who travel to Athens. Very reasonable price and helpful.

Chris Karakotas was the first and the last person we met on our trip! We were a group of 4 he picked us from the airport and on route to our accommodation gave us an insight in to Greek culture and the whereabouts of the sites. We enjoyed the experience so much that we decided to stick with him for the rest of the trip while we were in Athens. While touring northern Greece we remained in touch to arrange a suitable time for our return back to Athens. Once we were back in Athens Chris picked us up from the station and dropped us off to our resort. Best thing about the experience was you could plan the next day without worrying too much about transportation as Chris is very flexible and understands plan can potentially change. On our last day he picked us up from the resort and dropped us back at the airport! Best Athens Tour Guide and Taxi
Chris met us at airport and took us to our accommodation. Along the way he gave us some great recommendations for ‘where to go’ in our local area (restaurants, supermarkets, shops, cafes). He also arranged with us to take us on a couple of day tours that included a great mix of some local ‘must see and do. ‘ sites plus good restaurants. Chris has great local knowledge and ideas for how to spend a day or week in Athens. His communication style is wonderful.

How lucky for us that we found Christos. We used him for our whole time in Athens when we travelled to Greece and the islands for a month. Incredibly reliable, amazing local knowledge, great English, polite and friendly, flexible, clean van, very fair reasonable and honest pricing. We had to return unexpectedly to Athens in the middle of our island tour to get emergency passports from our embassy, and Chris was there for us in our time of need , not just to drive us, but as moral support too. We felt very looked after. Chris even turned the meter off to wait for us and even bought me a coffee during that time of stress! He would be a fabulous guide for all ages and kinds of travellers. Christos made a rainy day in Athens utterly wonderfully memorable. Our family were welcomed by this lovely man beyond our expectations and we saw sights of Athens we would have missed had Christos not been there to guide us to the very best locations with very thorough information on what we were experiencing.
